How a mural is born

First I visit the space and watch the light: how it moves across the wall during the day, where the painting will read best.

Then a scaled sketch. We agree on composition, colours and boundaries before I touch the wall with paint.

A mural continues the space instead of hanging on it like a picture — I paint from the real texture: stone, corner, light.
